Benjamin Mandigo is an 11th-grade cellist in the Juilliard Pre-College Division, where he studies with Clara Kim. He previously studied with Alex Croxton at School for Strings and was a member of the New York Youth Symphony.

Benjamin has received numerous awards in national and international competitions. In 2024, he won First Prize at the Charleston International Music Competition, followed in 2025 by First Place awards at the International Grande Music Competition and the Protégé International Piano and Strings Competition. In 2026, he received the Grand Prix Prize at the New York Concert Festival International Competition, Grand Prize at the Young Artist International Premier Competition, Grand Prize at the New York Laureate International Concerto Competition, First Place in the Mary Roebling Concerto Competition, and the Grand Prix at the Sempre Musick Concerto Competition.

As a soloist, Benjamin has appeared with the Capitol Philharmonic and the Sempre Musick Symphony Orchestra and has performed at venues including Carnegie Hall and the DiMenna Center for Classical Music in New York City.

His summer studies have included the Heifetz International Music Institute Senior Division, Bowdoin International Music Festival, Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival, Greenwood Music Camp Senior Camp, and Kaufman Music Center’s SummerFest. He has performed in master classes for distinguished cellists Zvi Plesser, David Ying, Christine Lamprea, Elizabeth Simkin, and Paul Katz.
