Lisa Gollenberg is a senior music education major at Gordon College in Wenham, MA. She began her musical studies on the flute, which she played until her final year of high school, when she began playing the French horn. Upon entering Gordon, Lisa began studying the horn with Dr. Peter Iltis, and now studies with Eli Epstein.
Throughout her years at Gordon, Lisa has been very active in ensembles, both on and off-campus. She has been part of the Gordon College Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Women’s Choir, College Choir, Chamber Singers, and various chamber ensembles. She has also been involved with several local orchestras, bands, and church choirs in the greater Boston area. This summer she also attended the MasterWorks Festival in Indiana. Earlier this month, Lisa presented her senior recital and also appeared as a soloist with the Gordon Symphony Orchestra in the Gliére Horn Concerto.
Lisa is very passionate about teaching, and has been extremely involved in music education events at Gordon College and around the state, including teaching at Gordon’s Summer Music Academy and Music Mania programs in recent years. This year, she serves as the president of the Massachusetts Collegiate MENC chapter and teaches several private students in the area.
Next semester, Lisa looks forward to student teaching in Ipswich, MA. She is currently applying to graduate schools to study horn performance in the fall of 2009.
